This morning Jason decided to change the brakepads on our Tahoe, no big deal, he had always done it on our minivan as well. He takes the vehicle to the shop and has the space and the jack to do the work quickly there. Today, I decided since we only have the 3 big kids this weekend, (the little girls are camping with Grandpa and Grandma) that we could all go to the shop together and the kids could ride their scooters in the parking lot and stuff. Well it turned out to be a God thing that we went with Jason, because he was really having trouble getting the bolts off of the parts he needed to change the brakes, because they had been tightened with an impact wrench or tool or something (sorry I'm not a boy, don't remember the name of the tool) anyways it made it VERY hard to loosen the bolts. So Jay was using a ratchet and he had to put a breaker bar (a long steel bar) on the end of the ratchet for more leverage to he was pushing with all his weight down on the bar and the ratchet shattered and he came crashing down on his hand, smashing it between the breaker bar and the concrete. I didn't even need to see the blood to know he was hurt bad... the look of pain and shock said it all. So, we headed to the nearest urgent care center and he had a 2 inch gash on his pinky that needed stitches and his finger is also broken. He will be resting on the couch the rest of the night and keeping the pain down with a vicodin prescription. So please pray for quick healing for Jay!!!!

Poor Jay - I'm sure he will be hurting tonight. I'll be praying for him.
I'm so sorry that happened! You're right- that wasn't a coincidence that you were there with him!
We're praying for a speedy recovery and comfort!
Thank goodness you were there! I pray Jay has a quick and painless recovery! At what point did you run to get your camera to take this picture????
This pic was taken after the urgent care visit when I came back to clean up the blood.
Oh no!! I hope he heals up quickly!
Well, that's good! I was picturing him being injured and you making a run for the camera to document it.
I am so sorry to hear about Jay. How is he doing??? So happy to hear that you were with him.
