Kid Free Zone

This weekend we picked up some shelving from my dad so we could clean up our storage rooms and garage. Jason really worked hard on Saturday and got both storage rooms cleaned from top to bottom. While he was working he found lots of stuff that we forgot we had because it was buried. One thing that was taking up alot of room in one of the storage rooms was this chair and ottoman. He decided to put them to good use. I have been wanting an area of the house that I can just get a few minutes of quiet time to myself. So Jay put this chair and little table in the computer room and said that the room can be just for me!!!! I can shut the door and request a few minutes of quiet time and just have the kids go play. I LOVE IT!!! We'll see how long this lasts.... Oh wait, the kids are pounding down my door - well that was nice while it lasted :) 

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful service at church tonight and had the privilege of hearing many testimonies of God's faithfulness and so many reasons that we have to give thanks. It was such a blessing to me. I have many reasons to give thanks this Thanksgiving.

I am thankful to God for sacrificing His only Son's life, and in turn giving me mine.

I am thankful to God for blessing me with such a wonderful husband who loves me even when I'm unloveable.

I am thankful to God for all 5 of the awesome kids that He has blessed me with.

I am thankful to God for my family.

I am thankful to God for my friends that I can be real and honest and open with and that they love me anyway.

I am thankful to God for not being content to leave me as I am, but to grow and change me and draw me close to Him, for His glory.

Hide and Seek

A couple of nights ago we were all playing hide and seek together and we decided that Adam won the award for best hiding spot.....

.....we could not find him anywhere, so he finally had to start making noises to give us a hint about where he was hiding. 

Jamaica-mon?????

I had to post these pictures of Naomi!!! What a cutie, she walked around this morning for about a half an hour wearing this on her head!!! She put it back on tonight to show daddy. (It is actually supposed to be a hoola skirt, but now it doubles as a wig:)

 

Girls Weekend

This weekend Jenny (my sis) and I got to go away for a night to have some "recharge" time. We had such a wonderful time!!!!! We stayed a night in a hotel and went shopping to IKEA and did some outlet mall shopping. We both had a riot finding great bargains at the outlets because - who doesn't love shopping???? Especially when the prices are GREAT!!! We also saw a brochure for a zoo that looked like it would be really cool, so we decided to check that out. The zoo was awesome!!! Even though it was kind of "off season" for them we were able to see all of the animals except the hippos. It was just incredible!!!!! We will definitely be going back to the zoo with the kids this summer!!

We only had one glitch this weekend, when I got to Jenny's house to pick her up, I pulled into her garage and she was like, "what's that hissing sound?" Well I had picked up a nail in my tire on the way to her house. So we rushed to my parents house to drop M.J. off (Jenny's daughter) and they let us take their GrandPrix this weekend. Very cool, it was nice not to have to be minivan mamas this weekend:) The best part was when we got home and my parents had taken my van in and gotten the tire fixed so I didn't have to worry about it!!! Thanks guys!!!!

I also have to give a shout out to Katie - thanks for feeding my troops on Sunday!!!! They all had a great time at your house!!!!!

And last but not least - Jason, thank you for taking care of all the kids and everything so that I could get a night away!!!! I love you - you're awesome!

Fun with Friends

Tonight the kids got to have some of their friends over to play. They had a great time and I think that they will all sleep very well tonight - especially the biggest kid!! (Jay)

Trick or Treat!

Yesterday the kids had a great time getting all dressed up for "trick or treating". They all looked awesome!! Rosie is queen of all things girly - so being a princess this year was heaven for her. When I tucked her in last night, I whispered "you looked very beautiful" in her ear, to which she replied, "I know, I was smiling all night". It was a very fun day for everyone.

The kids got to do their annual pumpkin carving with their daddy when he got home from work yesterday. (Which really means that mom did all the dirtywork of cleaning 5 pumpkins BEFORE dad got home so the kids could get right to the fun;) Rosie and Adam's pumpkins were bats and the rest all have different faces.
