Christmas Break

Here we are on a nice long Christmas break! The kids get 2 full weeks this year.  We went to the cabin for a night to enjoy some sledding and snowboarding up north (where they actually have a little snow).  It was also nice to have a change of scenery; we haven't been up there in quite a while!

Weekend at the Cabin

This past weekend we stayed up at the cabin for the opening of Firearm Deer Season. The kids had Friday off because of parent/teacher conferences earlier in the week, so we enjoyed a nice weekend up north with Joel and Kori and their 2 kiddos. The weather was great! The kids made forts outside, had campfires, played with sandtoys and just enjoyed all hanging out together. Jay got a spike on Monday afternoon, which we processed last night and which I HATE doing!!!! I am a hunter and shooter, not a gutter and a cutter!!!! Jason says ehhhhhhh - wrong!!!!! Anyway, we came home Sunday afternoon so the kids could go to school and Joel and Jay stayed up and kept hunting til Tuesday night. All in all it was a fun weekend with family!

Memorial Weekend

We had a very enjoyable time at the cabin for Memorial Weekend. The weather was wonderful!!!! We'll take the hot and steamy over the 45 and rainy that Memorial weekend usually is!! We just really relaxed and enjoyed spending time at the cabin - Jay and I kinda thought we would be chasing Z all over the place, but she did remarkably well. She loved to sit in her raft in the water and didn't run up and down the deck steps over and over like we feared. She just rolled with us and had so much fun exploring her new surroundings. We did just a little fishing and lots of swimming and playing outdoors. We made it back before the storms rolled in on Monday, so we had no traffic delays and were all unpacked before everything got wet! So all in all I would say we had a great time! Here are some pics

Winter Fun

Here are some pics from the last couple of weekends. The first pics are of the time we spent up at the cabin so the kids could do some ice fishing. They had a riot. They caught lots of little perch and some crappie through the ice. I know they had hoped to pull in a big pike on the tip-ups, but just catching something was fun! They also got a kick out of coming home from getting bait at the bait store, and informing mommy that their daddy drove across a lake with them in the tahoe just for fun! The last few pics are of a day at Grandpa and Grandma's house. The kids had been wanting to get out on the 4 wheelers with Grandpa and get pulled behind in the sleds so that was a very fun day as well. OK, now we have had our last "wintertime fun days", now spring can come :)
