What's with the White Stuff?

This morning while we were all sitting at the table doing school, we all looked up to see the first snow of the season!  While I am groaning and saying to myself, "Here we go again...." the kids are all jumping for joy and begging to go out after school and play in it!  So just like they wanted, they are all outside playing.  Actually, they are "surviving".  They all ran up and said, "Mom, don't call us 'til supper.  We aren't coming in.  We are going to play "survival".  As I type, they are making a fort in the "wild area" behind our fence.  It has been 25 minutes since they started "surviving".  I give it another 20 before the first one comes blasting through the door begging for hot chocolate!

Can You Believe It?????!!!!!!!

Another snow day!!! I just cannot believe how many snow days the kids have gotten. They all of course love it - and I wouldn't want them to be on the bus in dangerous conditions, but seriously "Spring, Where Are You?????"

More Snow????????

Apparently the groundhog was right. We indeed have more winter. Yet another winter storm started up last night, only this time we get all the snow and the temperatures are only like 5-7 degrees! With windchills like 10-15 degrees below zero. Brrrrrrrrrr!!

It looks like Adam and Dillon have the right idea building igloos!

When Will Summer Be Here?

That seems to be the question around here these days. I guess the kids have had their fill of the white stuff. So.....maybe these pics will speed up the time 'til we see a little of the green stuff.....

Snow/Sick Day

Today the kids finally got a snow day. I am happy for them because I remember how fun snow days were to me when I was little! But I feel so bad for Adam, who was gonna miss school today any way bacause yesterday he came home from school with a fever and chills and cough. He said that he was sick by late morning at school, but didn't want to come home because he was worried that Dillon and Rosie wouldn't know which bus to get on at the end of the day without him there. So the poor kid stayed at school miserable just for them!! Anyways, I feel bad that he won't be able to enjoy the snow day with everyone else. So prayers that he will feel better soon would be appreciated!

Let it Snow!!

I am really enjoying our nice little blanket of snow we received this week. Everything looks so beautiful and sparkly when the sun shines on the newly fallen snow!! I can't wait till we get even more so we can play out in it!! I love it when the kids come in with red little faces and are wanting hot chocolate to warm them up. Winter is so fun!
