Pop Anyone??

This past Wednesday, Ruby had her first dentist appointment. She did great and the dentist said that her brushing habits are wonderful. Good job Ruby! She got to pick a couple prizes and get a new toothbrush and toothpaste. When we got home we were looking through her goodie bag and there was a little slip of paper with some very interesting information that I thought I would pass on to you all.

Do you know how much sugar the food you are eating has in it? Here are a few that might surprise you!!

Colas (20 oz.) 16.0 teaspoons
Mountain Dew (20 oz.) 18.5 teaspoons
Chocolate milk (8 oz.) 10.0 teaspoons
Kool-aid (8 oz.) 10.0 teaspoons
Raisins (4-6 raisins) 5.0 teaspoons
Gummy Bears (8-10 pc) 12.0 teaspoons

So if you have noticed my ticker on my blog I have given up all pop. Well it has paid off in more ways than one. You see I have lost 10 pounds in the last 1-2 months and I wasn't even trying. It is the pop! I was drinking at least one large coke from Burger King everyday and then maybe a couple cans of coke at home during the day. I didn't realize how may empty calories that was adding to my day.
It is also saving me money because large cokes are $1.75 and that adds up fast when it is spent daily.
However the downside is I bought a pair of new jeans 2 months ago and now I am trying despertly to shrink them because I really like them. LOL!
Smiles!
