I kind of put Michelle J. on the spot about not having a blog YET!! She responded so nicely AND did her Ten Things, so I thought I would show you all!! :)
Ok. The pressure to start a blog needs to stop. I can't take it anymore! You guys are brutal! I haven't had a chance to look at blogs for over a week, so I was catching up just now, and noticing your subtle HINTS aimed at me yet again. You just don't stop do you?! ;) Well, since you kind of tagged me, and I'm too pathetic and boring to have a blog to post these on, I thought I'd just email it to you for kicks. Here goes -
10 years ago: Jeff and I were struggling in our position as house parents at the Family Life Center, still adjusting to life in Michigan, and getting ready to celebrate Grace's first birthday!
5 years ago: We were celebrating Faith's 3rd birthday and Grace's 6th, waiting for news that our baby girl in Guatemala had been born (she was born October 11; we got the referral October 21), and gearing up for our first trip to Disney!
1 year ago: Birthdays again - Grace-10, Faith-7, Eden-4, and the newest addition, Samuel- almost 3. We were also anxiously awaiting the birth of our niece, Gabriella (born October 12).
Yesterday: I ran to the mall to do some quick birthday shopping, finished decorating Eden's High School Musical cake, braced myself for the big party with 6 of her friends, folded laundry, played keyboard for Authentic, and welcomed my dad home from 10 days in the hospital.
5 snacks I love: chocolate, potato chips, mozzarella sticks, barbecued wings, and chips and cheese (I know - I'm such a health food nut.)
5 things I would do with $100 million: get myself and my family out of debt, have my husband quit his job so we could do worldwide missions with Michigan as our home base, pack up my dad and our praise team to travel the world and do evangelistic revivals (think Billy Graham meets Hillsong :) to lead millions to Christ (I dream big), give my kids as much as they need in order to live a life of service without having to worry about getting financial support to do it, and take everyone I love on a Hawaiian cruise!
5 locations I would like to visit: China (specifically the Great Wall), Rome, Macchu Picchu, Disney World with all my kids (Sam hasn't been there yet), Tikal (Mayan temple ruins in Guatemala)
5 bad habits: short fuse with my kids, not smiling around my family enough, griping about other people's shortcomings instead of focusing on my own, eating 50% of my day's calories after 8 PM, looking for alone time while my kids are growing up at the speed of light.
5 things I like to do: lunch with friends (what's with me and food?!), basking in the sun, worshipping behind the keys of a keyboard with my eyes closed, uninterrupted conversation with my husband, watching my kids laugh and play and actually get along!
5 TV shows: Amazing Race, CSI (all 3), repeats of Everybody Loves Raymond, Numbers, Deal or No Deal
5 things I hate to do: listen to my Mayan warrior beller when she gets put in time-out for taking her brother out, give my kids the same instructions/discipline 100 times in a row, drive behind people who should have their licenses revoked, dust, have my day interrupted by telemarketers.
5 biggest joys: the love of my Savior, the love of my husband, seeing glimpses of Christ in my kids, being tight with my parents and brother and his family, and having the Christian friends I've prayed for all my life!
There ya have it. Have a good night :)
Hugs, Michelle

don't worry too much, i think most of what your kids say is so funny, not anything bad. (and besides, i told you all those things already, so they shouldn't have been too shocking!! lol :D )
One of these days we'll get her blogging yet!
Hey Michelle - you did a great job with this. It only shows again that you need a blog! Actually - I really enjoyed reading this. I never knew you were house parents at the FLC and you sure don't look like you could have any bad eating habits!
Loved Michelle's list!!! Someday she will have a blog even if we 3 start it for her and then post for her as well!! LOL
