Ice Fishing Weekend

Jay left yesterday with Michael for the cabin to go ice fishing for the weekend. I was up there last weekend and it was quite warm and I was VERY worried that the ice would be too melty for them to go out on, but thankfully this week has been very cold so the ice is safe. Jay said that the ice was like 10 inches thick so I guess that means that it is strong enough to drive a car out onto. They brought out their shanty and set up tipups in the afternoon yesterday. This morning one of their flags was up and they had caught a pike. Then this afternoon they each speared a pike. Spearing is something that Jay has never done before and he sounded on the phone like he LOVED it!! He was mumbling something about it being primal or something like that.............anyhoooooooo. He is having a great time and I really wish I would have sent the camera along with him so I could show you all the great pics of the speared fish :) - or not!

I like your new look - the header picture is great! I'm glad Jay is having fun doing "primal" things out in the cold. I'm staying in!

Sounds like fun. I've never gone ice fishing before, but it's on my (long) list of things to do. I love your new header. The kids are soooooooooooooo adorable! :)

I'm so glad it got cold because I know how worried you were. Sounds like a total man thing- spearing!
