This post is about "stepping out in faith". This week I had the priveledge of witnessing several different ways that people decided to step out and obey the Lord no matter the outcome. They knew that the Lord was directing them and that was all that mattered. First, I logged onto the computer one morning and was looking at my friends blog and she had an entry that directed me to this. To find out the outcome of this post click here.
Then we had our Wednesday night church night where all the kids through middle school go to their groups. Well I have been thinking about working with the older youth, and so I had a few minutes and decided to go and watch them and see what they were doing. I walked in just as they were finishing their last set of songs. Then our youth pastor was getting ready to pray with them and just invited any one who wanted to just to put their hand on one of their friends and pray with them. Now when I was back in middle school, we didn't have that kind of youth group we just didn't do that. So I was watching the kids and thinking that they would all just remain in their seats while the pastor prayed. Boy was I wrong. Right off the bat 2 boys got out of their seats, faced eachother and layed their hands on eachothers shoulders and prayed with eachother. I was so blessed to see this act of love between friends. Then more kids got up and sat in groups of 3 or 4 and prayed with eachother. SO AWESOME!!!! Remember, these are middle schoolers - an age that is very hard for kids. Yet they didn't care what anyone thought and they obeyed where they felt God was leading them.
Last, I have to add a family that has truly blessed me. They moved to Haiti 1 year ago. They have had trials, hardships, but SO many blessings in the time that they have been there. God never promises that following Him will be easy, but He does promise that he will always be by your side, He will never leave you, He will always be your guide. Is there an area in your life that God is asking you to surrender to Him, to take that "step of faith"?
