Broken van and other random stuff...

Monday morning started out wonderfully, Adam and Dillon got off to school just fine, my friends called and we were gonna meet and take the kids out for lunch, so then I went and got groceries with the girls so we would be back in time for lunch. That's when the fun started. Getting the groceries went great, the girls were good... until we got to the register to check out and Ruby decided she wanted gum. I calmly told her that we weren't getting any candy this time because last time they each got to get their own bag of bulk food candy. Well she didn't like that answer apparently. First, she says to me, "I can't even believe this is happening!!" I had to stifle a laugh and reply, "well we can have a piece of fudge when we get home". Then she says, "my tummy isn't hungry for fudge it is hungry for gum". Then there is quiet for a few minutes and I hear her quietly say, "mommy you are selfish, you are a selfish booger". At this point I had to REALLY try to keep my composure as the check out lady is cracking up!!! What am I gonna do with this child?!!

Then I get to the van and get the groceries all loaded up and the kids buckled and went to start the van, the key will go in but will not turn!!! I tried and tried, but nothing! So I called Jay but he was like 40 minutes away and I didn't want to wait that long. So he told me to call my dad, he works just 10 minutes away so he came to help. Dad tried to get the key to turn for an hour and a half before it would turn!! Needless to say, I didn't get to go out to lunch with my friends. My dad drove the van home and got it in the garage and turned it off, well it would not work again after that. We called a mechanic and got it scheduled to get fixed. I had to work all afternoon to try to get it to start again, but it would not work for me. Jay came home early to work on it and walked in the garage and turned the key and it starts FIRST try!!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!!!! I wanted to scream. Oh well, at least we got to get it to the shop.

I really shouldn't complain though, my sister graciously lent us her explorer so I wouldn't be without a vehicle. Thanks Katie!!! AND the mechanic already called this morning at 8:25 and said my van would probably be finished today!!! YEAH!!
