Popcorn

On Sunday morning the kids brought home little bags with kernels of popcorn in to show the food that Joseph gave to his family during the famine in Egypt. Well the kids were super excited when I told them that I could pop it on the stove for them. They had never known this because we always do microwave popcorn. Now I know why we do microwave popcorn!! First, I was pouring out the kernels in to a bowl to see how much popcorn we actually had. As I was pouring I found that there was not just popcorn in the bags, there was rice and some other stuff. So after 20 minutes of seperating out all the kernels we were finally ready to get started. When the oil was hot enough, I started pouring the kernels into the pan. I didn't get the top on quick enough and the hot oil started jumping out of the pan and got me right in the eye. Now it feels like I was punched in the eye and it is really dry. The popcorn doesn't look like micro popcorn when it's finished so the kids were looking at me like, "this is the popcorn??" Well, they ate it all, so they must have liked it. From now on though, I will just push the "popcorn" button on my microwave and wait 3 minutes for delicious popcorn!!!

Julie,
I'm so sorry! Tess wasn't going to give it to the kids but I thought they might like to take it home.
I hope your eye is feeling better!!
